For some reason there is nothing like a still moment with a curled up kitty.  There’s something about that warm fury body on a rainy day that calls for blankets, a warm cup of coffee, and cuddles.  We have two cats, Briscoe and Sookie.  Sookie is featured here.  While I pass by them a million times a day in this position, there are some moments when their peaceful nature just strikes me.

Rocky Hill Open House Pet Portraits

Whoever says that pets don’t have personalities or souls clearly hasn’t worked with animals very much.  Pet portraits are definitely some of the most challenging portraits I have done but also some of the most rewarding.  Every time I do them I am reminded how amazing these animals are and really strive to capture those unique personalities.  You can’t help but see it in their eyes.  So, I thought why not start the week out with some adorable pets.  Definitely will help get the Monday started off right.

Evening Escape

After a long day of editing and writing, Speed Racer and I just absolutely had to get out of the house last night.  We didn’t want to spend money, and we wanted to just talk and relax, so we headed to the mountains.  It wasn’t as relaxing as planned (there was a lot of traffic) but we did manage to get some photos!

Beach Bummed

I miss the beach.  This is a fact that I cannot ignore.  For over a year now I have been living in a landlocked state, for the first time in my life.  I grew up near or on the water, and I miss the smell of salt in the air, the heat that is so close it’s like a hug, and the soft powdery feel of sand beneath my toes.
