Thankfulness 3.30.11

Last spring during Lent instead of giving up something, I spent a little bit of time each day coming up with 10 things that I was thankful for. I’m a little ashamed to admit that it was hard to come up with different things each time, but it also changed my mood each day. I realized how much I have, how absolutely blessed I am, and it really helped put me in a humble mood for lent. This year I got a little bit of a late start, but today I am going to share 10 things I am thankful for.

Ijams Nature Center

Now that it’s officially spring, I’ve been trying to be better about going out regularly and photographing.  It’s essential to every photographer to, well, practice!  My forte and love is portraiture, but it never hurts to go out into nature, be quiet, and observe the little details around me.  It helps me look at things in a different way, play around, discover new areas to take portraits in, and just work at my art.  Continue reading

Dish-o-the-Week: Barbecue Portobello Quesadillas

That’s right friends!  It’s been a long time, but there is finally another Dish-o-the-Week!  I think you will be particularly fond of this one, I know Speed Racer and I really enjoyed it.  It’s an interesting combo, and of course I cannot take credit for it.  I found this recipe on http://www.eatingwell.com.  I changed just a few minor things here and there, but I think you’ll like it.  ALSO, this is a two for one special, I’m also giving you my Green Green Guacamole recipe in honor of all the green grass outside and as a way of saying sorry it’s been so long.  So now, less talk, more drooling.

March Mischief

Last weekend was Speed Racer’s birthday!  The Padre, Mr and Mrs Hokie, and even Mrs Miami and Little Miss came down for the weekend.  Our house was chock full of people but we wouldn’t have had it any other way.
