Dish-o-the-Week:Cinnamon and Sugar Donuts

I can tell your mouths are already watering just after reading the title.  I have good news, no no GREAT news!  Not only is this recipe super mouth watering delicious, but it’s also very easy to make.  As in, I made this at 6AM and only slightly burned a few.  So it’s gotta be easy.

Tuesday was Speed Racer’s Birthday so I thought some yummy donuts to start the day off right would do the trick and show him how much I love him.  These turned out very well although a few were sllllightly burnt.  Soooo now for the moment you’re waiting for, the recipe.

All you will need is a can of biscuits (any kind but the flaky kind), cinnamon, sugar, vegetable oil, and butter (4 tbsp per 8 biscuits).

Begin by heat about 1/2 inch of oil in a large skillet over medium heat.  Take out your biscuits and cut holes in them.  Mix up the cinnamon and sugar (I did about half of each).  Melt your butter in a separate bowl.  Once the oil is hot start to fry the donuts, once one side is brown flip with tongs.  Once both sides are brown remove from the oil and put on a plate with paper towels.  After they have cooled a litltle bit, dip the donut in the butter and then the cinnamon/sugar combo.  Repeat on the other side.

And ta-da! You have amazing donuts for breakfast.  If you want to make these REALLY from scratch, try your hand at your own biscuit dough.  This one is a crowd pleaser, so make them for yourself, the family, or take the extra donut holes to work.  Everyone will love them, enjoy!
