If you live in Knoxville TN and have never been to the Market Square Farmer’s Market you’re seriously missing out. There are lots of Farmer’s Markets all over Knoxville once the weather turns nice, but this is by far my favorite.
This past weekend we had a few friends in town from D.C. and decided to show them the sites of our fair city. In fact, we tried to show them ALL the sites, and I’m afraid we may have ran them ragged. But I think we all had fun talking, walking, and taking some photos. The Farmer’s Market always offers a slew of goodies from homemade dog treats to bird houses and beautiful furniture. I’m always tempted to buy a little of everything but our wallets are thanking us for only picking up a gallon of local milk from Cruze Farms.
Oh my this pumpkin butter tempted both me and Speed Racer but in the end we decided to let it go this once. However, now that I see this picture again, I want some even more! There were so many goodies: jams, dressings, jerky, coffee, fresh veggies and fruits, and homemade lemonade. We did get some lemonade and a coke, it was hot out there.
Of course on the way back to the car we had to stop by Mast General Store and pick up some goodies.
So all in all the Market Square Farmer’s Market is a MUST if you’re from Knoxville or in town. They’re open Wednesday from 11a.m. to 2p.m. and Saturday from 9a.m. to 2p.m., May 7- November 19, 2011. Check it out and let me know what you think!
