Anniversary 2.0
June 13th was our second wedding anniversary! This year was a definite improvement from last year, if you need your memory refreshed click here: Happiness. We needed to get away for a bit, so we headed up to the Blue Ridge Parkway right outside of Cherokee, NC.
We went to a cute rustic campground right off the parkway called Mile High Campground. The elevations is 5,400 feet so it stayed nice and cool for the entire weekend. To me it was perfect. We just relaxed, talked, snuggled, all the good things you should do on a weekend away.
The love of my life cooking our anniversary dinner. We had brought a camp stove but it decided to break before we got it started. SO, we had to rearrange our dinner plans just a teeny tiny bit.
View from our campsite, it was fabulous.
Hmmm, I wonder who took this photo? Speed Racer mayhaps?? Indeed!
This may be the best picture of the whole bunch, I mean, yeeeaaahh.
We ran across a lot of wildlife: chipmunks, we heard coyotes, and then there was this cute turkey family. If you look close you can see the babies. Speed Racer is always confused about why I get so excited about baby animals, but who doesn’t get excited about baby animals?? Weirdos that’s who.
In conclusion we had a great weekend, reality hit a little too harshly when we got home, but a great weekend all the same. It’s hard to believe that we’ve been married two years. It seems like just yesterday that I was holding his hand for the first time; kissing him wrapped in a blanket in December. But at the same time we’ve grown so much in the past two years. Our partnership is stronger and when I look into those green eyes I see my whole world in them. Here’s to another year of love.

Whaaaat, how has it been two years already?! Also, speaking of time flying, I was just remembering how the first time you talked to me on the phone you thought I was going to be fat.
Just imagine my surprise when this viking woman walked in…
Gorgeous photos – good to look at and remember “when reality hits”.
